Recent advances in display technology and Internet open various types of emerging immersive media services to our daily life. And our demand for better visual experience is greater. In various3D video consumer application systems, coding and transport is indispensible. Recent researches on multiview video coding and transport are most based on H.264/AVC standard, especially the algorithms in the extension of H.264/AVC MVC(multiview video coding). They try to lower the computation complexity to save coding time. Unfortunately, they have not reached the requirements of application.This paper concentrates on realtime coding and transport for video captured by multiview camera system. To multivew video transport, the commonly used network protocols are analyzed and a set of protocols which is suitable for realtime transmission is picked. Then a synchronized transmission scheme based on the selected protocols is put forward. The details of the proposed scheme are described too. To realize a realtime coding system, multiview coding frameworks based on the popular H.264/AVC and the new HEVC standard are analyzed. And a new realtime coding method based on the appropriate framework is proposed. At last, the presented schemes are deployed in systems based on the next generation network, SDN(software defined network). The main work of this paper can be conclude as follows:1.With the analysis on the commonly used network protocols and the realtime transmission application, the most appropriate protocol set is selected. A H.264/AVC multiview video synchronization transmission scheme based on RTP/UDP/IP is put forward. It consists of the transmission framework, strategy, design and process of RTP encapsulation and how to choose the most fit container as a buffer. The realization tool winsock is also introduced. 2.With the knowledge of multiview video coding framework based on H.264/AVC and HEVC, Simulcast of H.264/AVC is the one most fit for realtime coding. On this basis, a new realtime coding method based on region of interest is presented to lower the coding time. The concept of region of interest here is explained and the method to extract region of interest in parallax images is shown.3.With the understand of the characters of SDN(software defined network), two typical realtime capture realtime transmission realtime display system are built for experiment. They are real-time tabletop stereoscopic transmission system and real-time high-resolution autostereoscopic transmission system. The proposed synchronization transmission scheme and realtime coding method are deployed in the two systems. The results confirm the effective of the presented schemes.
