As the main development direction of NG-PON2, Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Networks (TWDM-PON) increases the access rate by stacking multiple Time Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Networks (TDM-PON) in manner of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM). TWDM-PON is a promising network for surpassing both TDM-PON and WDM-PON, which combines the advantages of these two technologies. Resource scheduling algorithm is one of the key technologies of PON networks, so how to choose an efficient dynamic resource scheduling algorithm for enhancing network performance is essential. This thesis has studied the existing upstream bandwidth allocation schemes of TDM-PON、WDM-PON and TWDM-PON, on basis of which we proposed a dynamic wavelength and bandwidth allocation (DWBA) scheme based on linear prediction to manage the resources in TWDM-PON. This algorithm exploits both inter-channel and intra-channel statistical multiplexing. It effectively reduces unused time slots in channels, therefore network average delay drops and utilization of the expensive wavelengths improves.Simulation results show that compared with the existing schemes in TWDM-PON, the average packet delay of network is reduced greatly. Besides, the resource utilization and fairness is also considered.
