With the expansion of the city and the increasing of population, water supplycompanies are faced with the growing water supply network, How to manage thepipeline network has become a hot spot problem. The development of a scientificand effective water supply pipe network management system has become anurgent demand. In this paper, with the geographic information system technologyis introduced into the water supply network, we integrate the current networktechnology development achievement, design a city water supply pipe networkgeographic information system which aims to provide efficient decision-makingfor water supply enterprises. The main research content is divided into severalparts as follows:First, we study briefly the problems and the development status which thecurrent water supply network are faced with. We analyze the insufficiency of theprocess of information stored, taking into the information saved form of watersupply network, and propose the ideas that should be based on the designtechnology of geographical information system to solve the current problem, andexpound the development and connotation of design technology of geographicinformation system. By discussing the key technology of the geographicinformation system and related theory, we put forward the design idea of an urbanwater supply network geographic information system. On the basis of describingin detail the technology and the principle of geographic information system,design principle and overall design scheme is presented for urban water supplynetwork geographic information system.Secondly, according to those features of the network management that weextract from water supply enterprises operation mode, we select the Web GISdevelopment model of the current geographic information system, and constructthe basic framework of geographical information system in water supply pipe network. This paper integrate the latest cutting-edge technology, and put forwardthe three layer logic structure model which the network business and spatialanalysis is independent, improve the efficiency of system operation, and take thestrict criteria for storage of data in the system, manage spatial data usingGeodatabase model, save the attribute data using Oracle database, design themodel that the data connection be achieved through the data channel of thegeographical information system which named ArcSDE.Third, the article focus on dealing with tube burst, and further analyzes thecharacteristics of pipeline tube burst, and propose the analysis algorithm of tubeburst with depending on network flow theory, building the space geometricnetwork mode of water pipe network and combining with the graph theory andthe algorithm of depth traversal. In the analysis of longitudinal section, this paperextracts the height and depth of pipe network, calculate the angle of the pipe andthe horizontal plane, and simulate the underground pipeline.Finally, the result of the actual operation shows that the functions of thesystem can meet the actual needs of city water supply enterprise. The systemwhich developed with Struts2framework, achieve low coupling between modulesand high cohesion in module, ensure good performance of the system update andmaintenance. The burst pipe valve processing strategy of this system using thedepth first search combine with longitudinal section analysis function of thesystem, solves the actual problem of water supply enterprises burst pipeprocessing, has certain reference significance to the construction of informationmanagement system of enterprises.
