As an important branch of traditional industries in the field of industrial control, motioncontrol technology has played a pivotal role. The emergence of the motion controllerpromotes the development of technology and meets the requirements of the development ofnumerical control technology. This research project aims to produce a four-axis motioncontroller, for laboratory wave studies.on the basis of full investigation of the development of domestic and foreign controllers,we have identified control system based on PC+motion controller. Relying on its powerfuldata processing capability, we make the DSP control unit of motion controller. As the DSPonly has two event manager, and at same time we want to realize four-axis control, thereforewe chose the CPLD to achieve extend and multi-axis control. In order to meet its convenience,speed and stability requirements, we selected Ethernet controller as a communication toolbetween PC and motion control board.Completing Schematic design, we conducted a PCB plate design, and then conducted ahardware debugging. The problems should pay attention to and related solutions in thisprocess are reflected in the paper.As to the motor control, firstly, we introduced several motors; secondly, several controlstrategies were introduced; finally, we selected the speed control mode, and described it indetail. For motor control strategy, focusing on the motor position loop, we described in detail.Starting from the PI control, we gradually clarify ideas and come up with appropriate controlstrategies.On software control, we mainly introduced the host computer control and slave control.Software control, it is mainly the control of the host computer and slave control. PC controlincludes human-machine interface design and software-driven design between motioncontroller and PC. As to the lower machine, it mainly includes DSP control program and TimeManager Extensions of CPLD.
