LTE-Advanced is the evolutionary and features enhanced version of LTE Release8. The overall requirements of LTE-Advanced shall be backwards compatible with LTE Release8and go beyond it in terms of capability, system performance, radio resource management, complexity and cost of the infrastructure deployment, and service related requirements. Moreover these requirements must comply with and exceed the ones re-quired by IMT-Advanced. To meet the harsh requirements above, some novel technologies have been proposed. Coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission/reception technology is brought up in LTE-Advanced as an effective tool to extend the coverage of high data rates, the cell-edge throughput and/or to increase system throughput. Therefore, CoMP keeps standing in the limelight of communication industry and academy since proposed in3GPP.The paper presents an elaboration of CoMP and partition schemes of CoMP set, then the Matlab based system simulation and analysis of three dynamic retransmission link selection schemes have been studied in detail, too. The emphasis will be placed on the three dynamic retransmission link selection schemes based on different measuring criteria. They are:selec-tion of the best retransmission link by choosing the link with maximum reference signal receiving power (RSRP), signal to leakage plus noise ratio (SLNR), and signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR). The system simulation of the three dynamic retransmission link selection schemes has been carried out, and a conclusion has been made from the analysis of simulation results that the three dynamic retransmission link selection schemes have much improvement both on the average retransmission times and the average user throughput...
