With the rapid development of communication technology and widespread use of smart mobile terminals, information industry comes into the mobile Internet era from the age of the Internet. Mobile communication terminals bring people convenient interaction and a good user experience. Android mobile operating system as an open source platform, occupied most intelligent terminal market once lanched, becoming the new hot spot of research and development, and promoted the development of the Internet and mobile communication industry, which also makes Android platform itself more powerful and versatile. Meanwhile, the rapid development of intelligent terminal itself, especially enhancement of the hardware, it has more powerful features.However, compared to the PC, the current network-based intelligent terminal applications failed to achieve the universality of large-scale applications. Some applications require a relatively high flow rate is still confined to the WIFI as the representative of the wireless network environment. Low rate of mobile network operators and high tariffs become a bottleneck for further development of the mobile Internet. Given this situation, this paper designed and implemented two mobile Ad-hoc networks based on Android smart terminals, and on the basis of this network, phone to the phone real-time video transmission.First, this paper introduces the Android platform and related technologies of Ad-hoc networks, laying theoretical basis of construction of network and real-time video transmission based on Android platform. Secondly, the current relative protocol of Ad-hoc and related video codec standards; proposed a mobile Ad-hoc network based on improved mobile terminals; then achieved a suitable Android platform video transmission system. Finally, the realization of the system and test, including network tests and video transmission performance tests, and the results were analyzed. Finally, it’s system problems and future research directions.
