In recent years, wireless sensor networks have been developing rapidly, more andmore new technologies, new achievement have emerged. Wireless sensor network is acomprehensive application of sensor technology, wireless communication technologyand network protocols,bringing a new trend to an existing computer network. Theapplication of wireless sensor network is across all field, vary from military equipmentto health, from industrial control to the intelligent agriculture, from smart HomeFurnishing to traffic management system. You can see the vast application prospect.When the wireless sensor network (WSN) was applied to the Wireless PersonalArea Network, the optimization of the network protocol is particularly important. As alow-rate, low-power communication standard, IEEE802.15.4developed a networkcommunication standard on PHY layer and MAC layer. CSMA/CA mechanism is thecore content in IEEE802.15.4Mac layer, which is suitable for low speed, small trafficof WPN.In this paper, we proposed a new CSMA/CA algorithm based on dynamicweighted for large traffic of WSN. From combining the dynamic weighting algorithmwith the retreat of CSMA/CA algorithm, we make an improvement on the CSMA/CAalgorithm in802.15.4protocol. Besides, this paper conduct a simulation on theimproved802.15.4protocol through the NS2simulation software, find that theimproved protocol can adapt well to the dynamic network. CSMA/CA algorithmbased on dynamic weighting can improve network performance in heavy loadconditions, showing that when the transmit delay, packet loss and jitter obviouslyreduced while throughput has been significantly increased. This paper also maintainsthe superiority in the low traffic of the standard CSMA/CA algorithm in the IEEE802.15.4protocol.
