As a new method to test smart substation equipments, substation simulationsystem receives much concern in power industry. The primary simulation system usesthe simulation model, and the secondary simulation system uses real equipments. Theprimary system simulator must provide real time current and voltage signals in orderto test the condition of real equipments. However, solving the substation simulationmodel quickly is the key to ensure a real time system simulation. In order to ensure the real-time simulation, a method of establishing and solvinghybrid substation simulation system is proposed in this paper. On the basis of difference method, different model of resistance sensor andresistance capacitance element based on implicit trapezoidal method is established. The main equipments of substation model, including transformer, line, switch, loadand so on, consist of those different models. The nonlinear problem of transformermagnetizing branch is discussed and a method of piecewise linearization is proposedto solve it.The method for solving linear equations is introduced and the characteristics ofvarious methods are analyzed in this paper. Gauss elimination method, in which wemake full use of sparse and symmetry of coefficient matrix,is used to solve substationsimulation model. Then we discuss the solving process in detail.Processing unit and computing platform is designed on FPGA. In order to speedup the simulation and reduce the idle time of processing unit, node eliminationarrangement and the task allocation is studied. Practical tests show that a primarysubstation system could be processed in a EP3C120chip with50μs simulation step, according to the proposed parallel computing platform and task allocation strategy.
