UHF RFID is a long distance radio frequency identification system with thecharacteristics of small volume, fast speed and high reliability, which has been widelyused in modern logistics, e-commerce, traffic management, etc. With the developmentof information technology, the integration of radio frequency identification and othertechnologies has brought great changes for the traditional industry and the mobileinternet.As the detection terminal of RFID system, RFID interrogator is developing inthe direction of being intelligent, miniaturization and portable. Based on this, thispaper aims to design and develop a UHF RFID handset that conforms the ISO/IEC18000-6C interface protocols and runs on android intelligent platform to meet thedemand for high performance portable UHF RFID read-write equipment in the areassuch as warehouse management, commodity management, logistics management, etc.This research mainly includes the contents like handset hardware system design,software development based on the android platform, system debug, etc. Then thework is as follows.(1)Analyze the hardware framework of UHD RFID interrogator, ISO/IEC18000-6C protocol and the identification method of multiple E-Tags.(2)Illustrate the overall design scheme of UHF RFID handset based onS5PV210, including the design of UHF RFID module based on PR9000and androidembedded hardware platform with S5PV210as the core. Analyze power supplycircuit, IIC interface, UART interface, USB interface, SD card interface circuit.(3)Achieve the transplantation of android system in the hardware platform,then design and develop the RFID testing software. The transplantation processincludes the writing of boot file, the transplantation of kernel and file system. Thesoftware development includes the design of GUI and the realization of read-writefunction based on RCP. (4)Accomplish the system debugging of handset, analyze the problems in thedebugging process and provide the solutions.On the foundation of hardware and software platform, test the read-writeperformance of three different material tags with the use of ceramic antenna. Theresults show that the technical indicators such as read-write speed, reading distanceand recognition rate about this UHF RFID handset have reached the designrequirements and met the requirements of various applications.
