With the popularity of the Internet, it has become an indispensible part for modern mento work, study and live online; and the Internet environment needs to be clean, pleasant to theeye just as our living environment is.Internet rumors therefore prevail online these days due to the virtual, arbitrary,interactive and wide coverage nature of the Internet. Out of different purposes, rumormongersand spreaders start and circulate rumors willfully, which may ruin other people’s reputation,cause severe mental distress, confuse the public, disrupt public order, affect social stabilityand even cause damage to the country’s image.It is high time that Internet rumors got controlled and governed. Based on whatcewebrity do when they spread rumors, this thesis aims at analyzing and discussing rootcauses, spreading mechanism and control and government of rumors. With a bigger picture,hopefully the influence of cewebrity can be weakened and so are the following consequences.Furthermore, the aim is that cewebrity can be better governed, associate laws improved, themedia supervised by the public, the credibility of the government raised, and targetedsolutions put forward.And this thesis itself may be of some theoretical and reference value for later research.
