With the development of science, collaboration and research funding play increasingly roles in the course of science progress. Based on publications of collaboration and funded collaboration, the current thesis carries out comparative study on the effect of collaboration and funded collaboration.By applying bibliometric methodology and based on publications indexed in the CNKI and Web of Science, comparative studies has been done in terms of collaboration types, number of funding sources, as well as regional distributions of either collaboration and funded publications. In addition, point centrality and betweenness centrality of research institutions in a collaboration network has been analyzed by applying Social Network Analysis (SNA) so as to find out an institution with higher influence. The results show that collaborated publications has kept growing, and ratio of collaboration in international publications is higher than that of domestic publications:in publications indexed in the domestic database (i.e., the CNKI), higher proportion is within-institutional collaboration and cross-institutional collaboration, whereas cross-institutional and international collaboration play a major role in publications indexed in the international database (i.e., the WoS). Funded collaboration started to shift from one-source funding to two-or multiply-source funding. In domestic collaboration. Beijing is most active and Jiangsu takes a leading position. No collaboration happens in Qinghai and Tibet. Regional distribution of China’s international partners is highly skewed with the USA taking the absolute position, Hong Kong of China is the second option of Chinese researchers in collaboration in management science. In terms of funding sources, publications from most of Chinese regions are funded by two sources. Most publications from Beijing are funded. When internationally collaborating, China is inclined to such areas as Europe,Asia and North America. In terms of global centrality. that of publications of cross-institutional collaboration indexed in the WoS is better than those in the CNKI. Wuhan University, Nanjing University hold a central position in publications indexed in the two cross-institutional collaboration network and thus having higher influence.
