With the development of wireless communication technology, cloud computing and internet ofthings applications, position service based on location was becoming more and more popular.However, most of existing RFID indoor position system was designed based on the open doorenvironment, and the focus of research was still in the further optimization of the single algorithmlevel, and ignored the decisive role that different position scheme played in the design of positionsystem, and lack of the reseach on the practical applications. In this paper, the reseach on keytechnology and related theories of sensing and position system in discrete manufacturing workshopwas further performed by “12th Five Years Plan” of national defense basic research projects.The main research and results were as follows:Firstly, on the basis of analysis of present situation and application in the field of RFID at homeand abroad on the indoor position algorithm, the paper analyzed the demand of discrete manufacturingworkshop location-aware system and built construction of architecture and physical architecture oflocation-aware system in discrete manufacturing workshop and designed function structure andbusiness flow of location-aware system in discrete manufacturing workshop.Secendly, on the basis of analysis of the advantages of various indoor position method, the paperfigured out that the application range of most of exsiting RFID position system was not wide. Bycombining the characteristics of discrete manufacturing workshop, the paper also analyzed the defectsin the application of LANDMARC algorithm in the workshop. A reader and tag location method wasproposed for discrete manufacturing workshop.Thirdly, the paper focused on the location process and key module of improved locationalgorithm based on optimal neighbor LANDMARC, included Gauss model RSSI pretreatment, leastsquares curve fitting initial location, k-nearest value of dynamic adaptive and development of regulartriangle shape of reference tag.Finally, based on the study results above, a location-aware prototype system for discretemanufacturing workshop was developed, and a position test and the analysis of position error wereput forward in a laboratory environment simulation of discrete manufacturing workshop.
