Phosphor (YAG) covered with blue chip to produce white light, packaged by usingepoxy resin, is the main technical means of white LED industrialization at the present.However, white LED easy get bad because of phosphor has poor thermal stability andeasy to aging. In order to solve the problems, the way of using fluorescent glass topackage white LED instead of phosphor and epoxy resin has been proposed. Because offluorescent glass has remarkable advantage to phosphor in thermal stability,composition regulation and so on. The fluorescence quantum efficiency, as an importantparameter of Luminescence Properties Characterization of fluorescent material, hasimportant significance for preparing fluorescent glass technical research and LEDpackaging design. Therefore, we made the following work aiming at building themeasurement for quantum efficiency of fluorescent glass and studying the keytechnology:①. Aiming at the problem of using the baffle in present integrating spheremeasurement technology, the effect of light distribution uniformity in the integratingsphere by the baffle has been analyzed. To avoid the using of baffle, optical fiberdetection technology is proposed to suppress the direct light into the detector, so as toimprove the uniformity of light distribution in the integrating sphere.②. Aiming at the problem of integrating sphere needs special sample fixtureand signal become weak after light attenuation, hemi-sphere and1/8integrating spherehas been proposed, their measurement formulas has been derived, the comparison ofhemi-sphere and whole integrating sphere has been conducted. Eventually, designedthe quantum efficiency system based on the hemi-sphere, discussed the best position ofsample and detector.③. Aiming at the problem of data acquisition and processing during quantumefficiency measuring, the measurement software was written in Lab VIEW, whichrealized the spectrum signal acquisition, noise reduction, calibration, peak separation,quantum efficiency calculation for ocean optics HR2000+spectrometer.④. The fluorescent glass’ quantum efficiency has been measured by using themeasurement system which has been built. The results of the experiments wouldprovide guidance for the following research work of fluorescent glass.
