Direction relation is a kind of important spatial relation, which has importantapplication in artificial intelligence, image processing, geographical information systemand other fields. At present, the two-dimensional direction relation research is relativelymature, the research of the three-dimensional direction relation is less, world isthree-dimensional, thus it is necessary to study the three-dimensional direction relation.Establishing direction relation model and direction relations reasoning are two importantaspects for research in three-dimensional direction relation. Topological relation is also akind of important spatial relation, it and direction relation are complementary and mutualrestriction, the combination reasoning of these two kinds of the spatial relation has been ahot topic of spatial reasoning. Based on the above situation, in this paper, modeling for thethree-dimensional direction relation and reasoning direction relation based on model andthe combination reasoning of direction relation and topological relation are studied.Firstly, refering to the relevant literature, analyze the present situation of researchon modeling and reasoning for direction relation. In view of the present three-dimensionaldirection relation model cannot represent the direction relation between arbitrary typeobjects, this paper puts forward the boundary sensitive direction relation model betweenthe object of any type. Based on this model, single direction relations reasoning tables andmultiple direction relations reasoning method are given, and direction relationreasoning algorithm is proposed.Secondly, according to the constraint between the three-dimensional directionrelation and topological relation, this paper analyzes the relationship between each classand topological relation by categorizing the three-dimensional direction relations, andproposes a method of conversion for three-dimensional direction relations to topologicalrelations. Based on this method, the three-dimensional direction relations and topologicalrelations combination reasoning approch is put forward, and combination reasoningalgorithm is given.Finally, a three-dimensional spatial relation reasoning system is designed and implemented. The system allows the way of selection for direction and topology relations,this system completes three-dimensional direction relations reasoning and topologicalrelations combining with three-dimensional direction relations reasoning.
