With the rapid development of electronic technology, network and data traffic, itrequires more new network technologies, Because of the limitations of the electricalsignal and the existing transmission medium, potential of traditional network technology, the high speed and strong load capacity of light, the optical network has become thecore of the next generation of network technology. This paper studies the basic structure and working principle of the OBS network, focusing on the OBS conflict, including the completely conflict situations and the partconflict situations. Then research to solve the optical burst switching network conflict, including wavelength conversion technology, resource scheduling mechanism androuting technology. We studied the shortcomings of these technologies. To solve the OBS data packet loss problem, this paper focuses on the burstsegmentation and the application of light cache technology on ensuring the quality ofthe OBS network. We studied the current research about the burst segmentation, thenstudied the multi-business issues according to the actual situation, proposed differentsegmentation methods depending on different situation on this basis, and proposed animproved method by using integrated optical buffer technology. This method is takenthe segmentation technique, light cache and other network factors into account, it can bemore effectively on determining the packet loss or not, so as to ensure a low packet lossrate, to ensure the quality of service of the OBS and improve the performance of theentire network.
