Along with financial system development and even more huge financial marketinformation coming, it makes the whole society to be formed as a more complex softwareapplication entities and network. The current traditional system architecture is no longer tomeet the needs of the more and more complex event processing. Hence, to deal with theshortcomings of the traditional system architecture, event-driven architecture comes intobeing. Event-driven architecture also makes that the most appliances used in the financialmarket, medical agencies, government army, and other fields of the real-time softwaresystems are wholly changed. As a kind of event-oriented processing system, its main featureis to entirely enhance the system event processing capabilities on the event management,detection, response and reaction. Actually, complex event processing is an effective waywhich is produced based on event-driven architecture. On the existing financial markets,due to the large influxes of the financial market information events, it is a challenge onreal-time processing capability of the financial systems. It requires the financial system todeal with the real-time financial events in a timely manner, and even to make thecorresponding actions after the complex calculations and judgments. Therefore, in order toachieve the timely processing of the real-time huge events, it must use complex eventprocessing method to improve system response processing speed. As the complexity offinancial transactions, the software system is not only simply to respond to the input ofthese events, but also to apply the algorithm in the large amounts of data in order todetermine whether and how to respond after the calculation. In the financial softwaresystems, to use complex event processing can be that the system reacts to market conditionsmore quickly and accurately, in order to make the upper complex business requirements canbe achieved more easily. This is to be a practical significance for the construction offinancial industry. StreamBase is a platform using the event-handling framework, which is alow latency high output event server, and its advantages will help to improve the existingsystem of data processing capabilities.This thesis’s key purpose is to study and try to use complex event processing technology, to improve the existing order book service through complex event processingplatform StreamBase. So that it can better meet the needs of front office system. And this isalso based on the requirement of company’s risk management and compliance management.The major contributions of this thesis are:1. Requirement analysis, implementation and verification of complex event processing,which is based on the event-driven architecture. This thesis uses StreamBase as the platform,combined the complex event processing model on event-driven architecture, to analyze thecompany’s existing business needs, and then, describes the reason for using this design.Analysis result indicates that complex event processing method provides a substantialincrease on the event processing time, with the assurance of performing the current complexlogic, so that it enhances the operating efficiency of the entire system.2. This thesis describes the design of applying the complex event processing in thefinancial system in detail. According to the existing business needs from the clients, itelaborates the system analysis and design for compliance validation of the OBS (OrderBook Server) system, based on complex event processing platform sStreamBase in detail.3. The testing and deployment of OBS (Order Book Server) compliance verificationsystem. Perform the OBS (Order Book Server) system testing, and then deeply analyze thesystem testing results, so that it provides the necessary basis for the system optimization inthe future. Hence, this thesis describes the deployment of this system in detail.Finally, by summarizing the experience on applying complex event processing, someideas will be given on the possibility of optimizing and improving the existing system.
