Study On Problems And Countermeasures Of University Archives Website Construction

The university archives website, as the university archives entrance for network users, is the "reflection" and "expansion" of it’s relevant functions in the network world. Constructing university archives websites can help promote the process of archives informatization, help promote social sharing of university archives information resources, help good and rapid development of overall level of country’s archives websites and promote comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of archives undertaking. Today, after years of effort, the number of establishment of University Archives website has made great progress, but the quality and quantity can not be compared. Because the Lack of high-quality construction, it is easier for university archives website construction to become a mere formality.This paper mainly adopts the methods of document research, case study, interview, website visiting and questionnaire survey to describe the existing problems of the university archives website construction at present in detail, and puts forward the scientific and rational solutions. The study found that the problems of the university archives websites are mainly manifested in the lack of features of the website design, lack of information resources, weak service function and lack of online interaction between users and websites. The main causes of these problems are due to the university leaders’ lower attention, the lack of the innovation of archives management system, lack of planning and talent shortage. Finally, this paper put forward that we can solve the problems from three aspects of the system and mechanism, working methods and technical innovation. On the system and mechanism, we can solve the problems through establishing a unified mouth-to-mouth institution and actively promoting the university archives management system. On working methods, we should vigorously promote open system of university archives, perfect the construction of talent team and strengthen the propaganda of university archives websites. On technical innovation, we should strengthen the design of information architecture of archives websites, promote information resources construction and strengthen personalized and humanized service to solve problems.
