As a branch of the Yi nationality in the eastern suburbs of Kunming, they speak Han language, wear Han clothes and live in the apartments. The Torch Festival is not as magnificent as it is in Liangshan and Chuxiong… This is the branch of the Yi nationality, Samei Branch. The inheritance of traditional culture of Samei Branch is mainly carried on by words and deeds in daily life. Families, as the basic field and important carrier for the inheritance of branch culture, mainly determine the future of branch culture.Taking the case of Puzhao residents group of Puzhao Community from Ala street office in Kunming economic and technological development zone, this paper aims to present the role of the family education of ethnic minorities from the central city which is not the ethnic communities in traditional culture heritage and the existing problems, enrich the study of the relationship between family education and the traditional cultural heritage, and the methods and strategies of promote traditional culture heritage by family education.This thesis randomly selected 24 Samei families and conducted survey and interview. According to age classification method, respondents in the survey were divided into three generations:the olds, the middle-ageds and the young people, namely "interviewing to the elders in the family", "interviewing to the parents in the family", and "interviewing to the sons and daughters in the family". Through field surveys and interviews, it briefly describes the meanings, features, influences, contents and methods of the family education of Samei branch, showing the current status of Samei cultural heritage of the family. Meanwhile, it gives proposes about how to inherit Samei traditional culture well after deep thinking.The thesis puts forward seven suggestions for the transition, development and dilemma of family education in cultural heritage:1. reshape family cultural self-confidence and enhance the awareness of heritage and protection.2. Reconstruct Samei culture system.3. Protect and cultivate sa mei excellent talents.4. Enhance the propaganda and expand the influence of Samei culture.5. Invest more capital and strengthen the construction of cultural places.6. Support and develop small workshops of branch cultures.The research findings are as follows:1. Family education is the place of Samei cultural heritage; 2. Family education should strengthen the education of Samei language; 3. Family education should strengthen the inheritance of Samei embroidery craft inheritance; 4. Family education should strengthen the inheritance of traditional festival.5.Samei dance is family member’s favorite cultural content.Although family education is important for traditional culture heritage of Samei, it is consciously or unconsciously neglected. Analysis and research for solving the problem will be able to give other nationalities some insight.
