Outdoor constructive play as a typical representative of Anji play, got wide social attention. Teacher’s guidance plays an indispensible role in children play, yet the guidance can be effective and appropriate only when being performed timely. Thus, guiding children play at perfect time and occasions would be the vital if teachers attach sufficient importance to guiding efficiency. This research is conducted to provide scientific basis for elevation in effectiveness of teachers’ guidance in children play in the way of exploring different teachers’ recognition and use of timely occasions.This research mainly adopts the organic combination of field observation and interview, we selected Anji experimental kindergarten which has rich outdoor constructive play experience and tracked 12 teachers’ play guiding behavior for a month, mainly from three aspects: the present situation of play guiding, the influencing factors of guiding occasion, the relationship among guiding occasion, guiding method and guiding effect. From these three aspects, we investigated the recognition and grasp of Guiding Occasion in Outdoor constructive play. The study found that:Firstly, the overall effectiveness of teacher’s guiding is comparatively high, the validity of the delayed guiding in outdoor constructive play is higher than others. Secondly, play guiding should take both guiding occasion and guiding method into consideration. Thirdly, the activity area, children age and the situation that triggers the guiding may produce different effect to the guiding occasion of teachers.We can gain a lot of conducive enlightenment from these:1. Teachers should observe children carefully, keep sensible to guiding occasion, and improve the ability of observe and analyze. 2. Teachers might as well observe from different perspective to analyze before jumping to further decision. 3. Teachers are required to improve self-consciousness of guidance and reflect promptly. 4. Teachers shall give guidance with pertinence according to the different space and material characteristics of active area. 5. Teachers ought to consider different developmental level concerning to children’s various age and individual differences in order to teach them in accordance with their aptitude. 6. Teachers are supposed to grasp the guiding emphasis of different people who trigger the guiding situation.
