The sound development of regional ethnic higher education plays an important role in promoting the economic, cultural, education on the frontier, and make act on national unity, social stability,international status of China. Since 1998 Chinese universities enroll more students, there are more and more minority students come into colleges in Xinjiang. We should pay more attention to the higher education of minority areas, and assume greater responsibilities for the development of Xinjiang education.Minority students’ families afford higher education for national development has important practical significance, gradually ensure that minority families continue to improve their income is key to economic and social development, also expand the size of the national higher education, maintaining the intrinsic motivation of population quality in Xinjiang.In this study, statistical analysis of the Minority college students’ families ability to pay and financed.This paper show: the family supply of minority students was significantly lower than other Han nationality students; the more better the Minority students’ families where the degree of city, parental educational level, parental occupation, family income in the local economy, the more higher family supply and family afford school fees more strong. The Student annual family income has a significant positive effect for the supply of students families, and the college tuition expenditure, meals expenditure and other consumer of students in daily life also has a significant positive effect on household supply. But the effect of students’ consumption expenditure greater than the annual family income to on family supply.At the same time, obtain funding played an active role to alleviate pressure on minority students paid family. The students of different ethnic, gender who funded significant differences, and there are negatively correlated between school funding and student families supply. To some extent, the college students funded work helped minority needy students, but there exists the problems of policy publicity, operation process is not transparent, fair enough etc. Therefore, this study was based on the actual economic, cultural and educational development of Xinjiang, and proposed strengthening suggestions to enhance the ability of Minority families pay for. Emend the reasonable fee of colleges and universities; development of the rural economy and improving income of minority families; revise student financial assistance, and effectively boost the education fair.This study helps to enrich the basic theories of National Higher Education, provide scientific references for further improvement and promote the development of Xinjiang National Higher Education;provide empirical evidences for university administrators of Minority areas, students, and government to construct minority education reform and nurture high quality persons of minorities; which is Contribute to the rapid development of education, and promoting the harmonious progress of social civilization in Xinjiang.
