Since 2001, our government has implemented arrangement and adjustment in compulsory education in rural areas. Recently people have started to pay attention to the revocation of small size schools in rural areas because of the difficulty in entering school and frequent school bus accidents. In 2012 government put forward that we should protect the small rural schools.Education is a fundamental task crucial for generations to come while education must make teachers as basic. It is the vital point to build a adequate, reasonably structured and high quality teacher troops in the development of rural compulsory education.This research takes Long Xi county of Gan Su province as objects and adopts the principle of layered random check to choose three school districts, which totally includes eight schools.And one of the schools is a teaching school.Based on the sample selection,the author carries out the questionnaire survey among 75 teachers from the eight schools.At the same time, the author also interviews eight headmasters and 18 teachers.Then the author describes and analyzes the current situation of the teacher troops in Long Xi, after which the author points out the exciting problems and reasons and put forward suggestions and measures.Based on the small-scale schools in rural area, the research represents the current situation of the teacher troops, at the same time, it analyzes the existing problems and causes. Here are the conclusions according to the results.1. Among the small-scale schools in rural area of Long Xi county, the gender structure is unreasonable, and the number of male teachers is much more than female teachers. The division of disciplines is not reasonable, because the art and music teachers are badly needed. At last, the professional qualifications structure is unreasonable,because the proportion of senior teachers in small rural school is very low.2. The teachers’ work load is very high due to the lack of teachers. And there exist substitute teachers.3. The economic treatment is so low that the teachers are faced with high pressure.Teachers’ status and sense of satisfaction are also very low.4. The teachers’ work environment and living conditions are poor. And the working conditions and spiritual life need improving and enriching.Aimed at the existing problems in the teacher troops of small-scale small rural school in Long Xi county, the author put forward four countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen the construction of the teacher troops: to optimize the teacher structure; to improve the system of the distribution of resource among the teachers; to increase education input; to enhance the efficiency of the teachers’ training.
