The Problems And Countermeasures Of The Kindergartens’ Community Resources Integration

It is a tendency in pre-primary education that the resources of the communities are being integrated with kindergarten education. Based on the characteristics of the activities in the kindergarten, this integration tends to optimize the kindergarten education through making full use of the resources of the communities nearby. Exploring the problems and strategies of the integration aims at enriching the theory about integration, meeting the needs of the development of the children and teachers, adding new elements to the curriculum system, standardizing the rules in the kindergarten management. Thus the quality and efficiency of kindergarten education can be enhanced.This thesis takes Kindergarten H as a case analysis through literature review, questionnaire, interviews and action research. The outline is as follows.First, in the literature review, this thesis summarizes the research achievements in this field and presents the contents and significances of the research.Second, after carrying out interviews and questionnaires from the teachers and parents, this thesis makes a summary about the following major problems existing in the integration of resources from the Kindergarten H and the communities around it. From the viewpoint of scope, the types of community resources are not inclusive and each type is not extensive. From the viewpoint of significance, the activities related to integration are not practical. The in-depth comprehension about the community resources is not enough and the integration is always untimely. From the viewpoint of systematic management, the integration has those positive characteristics as scattered activities, hurried planning and inexplicit course schedules. From the viewpoint of recognition, few teachers can accept the idea of integration even none of them would take part in it actively. A Few parents can accept the idea and the community workers even take negative attitudes.Third, this thesis will explore the reasons of the found problems as follows. From the viewpoint of kindergarten management, there is no overall planning and guiding about the integration. There is also no security preparedness and standard workflow in security management. From the viewpoint of the teachers’ development, the teachers attach little importance to the integration, have no all-round understanding about it, and are not capable enough to carry it out. From the viewpoint of parents and community, they pay less attention to the education, are not familiar with pre-primary education, and have few knowledge about the characteristics of pre-primary kids. Further more, there are other deep-rooted social factors.Last, it tends to find the following strategies to the problems of the integration through investigating Kindergarten H in person and trying different practical methods. The first one is the strategy to improve the management system. After familiarizing with the characteristics of the resources and setting up resources library, the contents of the integration and curriculum system can be settled. This is the key point of curriculum management. As for strengthening the sense of safety, the management process should be standardized; the margin of safety should be reduced; the programs about preventing potential dangers should be made and the safety education should be carried out. The second one is the strategy to the development of the teachers. Through updating the teachers’ knowledge about education theories and widening the teachers’ knowledge in their major, the teachers’ abilities will be improved a lot. The third one is to get the support from the parents and the managers of the communities. The parents should be in agreement with the managers of the kindergarten in the integration. Thus the resources can be fully made use of. In order to get support from the communities, the kindergarten should share its physical resources, human resource, and culture resource with the communities. Then the kindergarten and the communities can get benefits from each other. Besides the strong desire about the integration from the kindergarten, this integration also needs the support from the country and the society. In conclusion, it makes a summary about the thesis, exposes the shortcomings and furthers in prospecting the potential problems that will occur and need further research in this field.
