| Wushu tournament is the highest economic benefits, the most influential, the mostcomplete event system among the traditional Chinese sports, which has been formed WorldChampionships, Asian Championships, National Championships and other competitions. It isalso an important part of sports events. Looking back at the development of Wushu events inthe past century, its architecture and content has been constantly enriched and improved. Therace closely ties with all sectors of society, its influence gradually expands to communitygroups and each field. Especially since the reform and opening up, Wushu competitions arepositive and active in the community arena. According to incomplete statistics, in2013, thenational Wushu tournaments have been launched up to40times.In this context, the paper is based Wushu competitions comprehensive benefits for thestudy, borrowing from the basic theory of sports events and from the perspective ofeconomics, management and sociology, regarding the Fifth World Traditional WushuChampionships as the case analysis. Absorbing the use of literature information, field visits,expert interviews and logical analysis, the author conducts more in-depth investigationresearches on the comprehensive benefits of Wushu competitions in order to enrich anddevelop the basic theory of Wushu tournament, expand the general research of Wushutournament benefits content, build Wushu tournament theoretical system to assess the overallefficiency of Wushu tournament held, hoping to reduce the blindness of Wushu tournamentheld to some extent and promote Wushu tournament held in rationality and science,improving the overall efficiency of Wushu events, thus contributing to the whole sustainabledevelopment of Wushu tournament career.This paper studies the main conclusions are as followings:(1) Theoretical study Wushu tournament is still in the initial stage. Try to develop theconcept of Wushu tournament, referring to a social activity of Wushu competitions around thecore means, invest human, material, financial and other resources, through the preparation andoperation of a certain period, providing products and related services competition products tomeet the needs of interest groups, which occurs in a short time concerning on entertainment,contests, cultural, industrial nature. (2) The trajectory of Wushu events develops from the Ceremonies-Entertainment-Health Warning-Chinese martial arts tournament-Wushu Competition-Wushu events, etc. aseries of events and evolution process. Modern Wushu events’ formation and developmenthave experienced the initial stage in the Republic of China, the exploring stage from1949to1978, stage of development since the reform and opening up.(3) Wushu events composed of routine events, competitions and skill exercises, Sandatournament, whose classification shows diversity. Generally speaking, we divide it into smallWushu tournament, classic Wushu tournament, general Wushu tournament, large-scale Wushutournament. The basic characteristics of Wushu events includes contests, constraints, risk andcultural characteristics. The complexity, the public, openness, service, relevance featuresmake Wushu events have the characteristics of the times. The development of Wushu eventsshows the complexity of participants in groups, the diversification of Wushu events forms,diversification attributes of tournament features. Its social value features include integrationof social resources, public services, the effects of radiation social function.(4) Wushu tournament benefits contains the internal and external benefits, long-termbenefits and short-term benefits, the positive benefits and negative benefits. Internal benefitsinclude competition benefits, boxing benefits, industrial efficiency, and cultural benefits;external benefits reflect the general layout of the cause of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics, one of the five, namely, political benefits, economic and cultural benefits,social and ecological benefits. Wushu tournament development strategy is morecomprehensive and balanced.(5) Factors affecting the overall efficiency of Wushu events includes event operationsmanagement, stakeholder groups, comprehensive strength of the organized host city, politicaland economic culture.(6) The5th World Traditional Wushu Championships as a large Wushu tournament, itsinternal efficiency and external effectiveness, long-term benefits and short-term benefits areremarkable. From the event itself, the effectiveness of its competition, boxing benefits,industrial efficiency, effectiveness and other aspects of cultural events have played a certainrole in the spread and development of Wushu. From the outside factors, Wushu event willbring long-term, far-reaching impact on Huangshan city. |
