For decades, biological education reform advocates students using inquiry learning inbiology course."Curriculum standard" requirement for exploratory learning embodies thestate’s ability to explore students’ biological importance. The students’ inquiry learning isbecoming more important, and teachers’ inquiry teaching has become even more crucial.Although the teachers know the importance of inquiry-based teaching in theory, but inthe practical teaching process for the understanding of inquiry-based teaching alwaysconfused in talking with junior high school biology teacher. How the orientation of the rolesof students and how to weigh the teachers to make teaching effects better,that is what weeducation workers urgently want to know. The purpose of this study is to solve the problemsthat teachers faced in inquiry class about role balance, thus improve the quality of junior highschool biology inquiry teaching. We will research different grade, different teachers anddifferent class of the actual class, Summarize the experiences of class and trade-offs the rolebetween teachers and students in exploring class then get a universal conclusion,so can weguide teachers better in inquiry-based teaching.In this study, the author discusses the role of teachers and students in inquiry-basedclassroom through enter into practical teaching in depth.The research object of this article is junior high school biology teachers, junior highschool students, and junior high school biology inquiry-based teaching class. So, according tothe characteristics of the research object, the author select the following five kinds ofqualitative research methods: observation method, interview method, literature method,Delphi method and inductive method.A large amount of materials used are collected in the investigation. Through the analysisof the collected materials, we can draw the following conclusion:1、As the difficulty of exploration different, students need different guidance.2、Compared with the seventh grade students, less eighth-grade students need lessguidance, students guide more.3、Although the senior students have a certain capacity for independent inquiry, but theystill need the guidance of teachers in link.4、If the time of inquiry is not enough and teachers guide more, students will leaded to apoor ability of independent inquiry. 5、Students prefer to explore themselves by the way of do experiments, discussion andwatching video experiments.6、There are differences between the teacher and the student to the teacher’s roleexpectation.7、As the type of class different, the proportion of teachers guide should show a different.Therefore, teachers should adjust teachers’ dominant proportion according to thedifferent difficulty grade and the different type of class, and the characteristics of students.And teachers shlould notice the difference between the teachers and students to teacher’s roleexpectation in the in the inquiry. And a good grasp of the allocation of time and the change ofexplore modality is necessary.
