With the rapid development of society, imbalance development problem of regionaleconomic appears, and thus leads to a series of social problems, among them; the educationproblem is increasingly highlighted. Research data shows that, Chinese scholars’ study ofallocation of education resource has formed a system, but there are rarely researches based onthe geography perspective of quantitative analysis. This thesis embarks from the perspectiveof geography, analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics of compulsory educationresource allocation in Liaoning Province in the late7years from2005to2011, taking14cities in the region as the survey area by using the spatial agglomeration theory.The first part of the thesis, as the theoretical basis, summarizes the previous researcheson education resource, interprets and summarizes the related concepts and theories, includingliterature review of domestic and foreign research, concept and connotation of educationresource, theory basis of compulsory education resources allocation and so on.The second part, analysis of spatial distribution characteristics of compulsory educationresource allocation in Liaoning Province, is the core part of the thesis. This part is also theemphases, difficulties and innovation of the study. Standard Deviation, Coefficient ofVariation, Herfindal Index, Gini Coefficient are applied to analyze the distribution ofcompulsory education resource in Liaoning Province. The theory of urban primacy andrank-scale are also applied to analyze the rank-scale of compulsory education resourceallocation in Liaoning Province. To analyze the difference of compulsory education resourcesallocation characteristics, entropy value method is applied to measure the evaluation indexes,and then FMC is used to clump the results. At last, results are visualized operated in Arcgis toget the spatial distribution characteristics of compulsory education resource allocation inLiaoning Province. The result shows that the overall level of primary compulsory education inLiaoning Province has showed a downward trend, the development scale centralizes year byyear. The compulsory education resource allocation of Primary and juniorhighschool inLiaoning Province take on a rank-scale distribution, the ideal size K value decline year byyear, belong to the balanced development. Dalian has the highest integrallevel of compulsoryeducation resource allocation of primary in Liaoning Province, Dalian and Shenyang rankedfirst on the level of compulsory education resource allocation of junior high school.furtherreason is studied combined with the results of clumping. In terms of spatial distribution, Shenyang and Dalian constitute the core of development structure; in terms of temporalvariation, the difference of gradient between central and peripheral city reduced year by year;a spatial pattern of north low south high, east high west low has already steadily presented.The third part sets forth the optimization countermeasures. Based on the study resultsand the problems discovered during the study, Optimization countermeasures are presented toimprove compulsory education resource allocation in Liaoning Province.
