This paper is mainly for the comparative study on the fourreading columns, that is Data card, prompt, scientific view andscientific history between the new edition of Chemistry textbook(compulsory one) for senior middle school published by people’seducation press and the High school chemistry textbook of JiangsuEducation Press (compulsory one) and summarize the characteristicsin reading section of the two editions. Surveying on the use ofpresent reading section materials in high school chemistry teachingprocess of Tongzi County under the background of the implementationof new curriculum reform in Guizhou Province of four years, itdiscovered the existing problems and found the reasons. Combiningwith the actual situation of high school chemistry teaching inGuizhou Province, it aims to help teachers understand textbook inreading program and put forward reasonable suggestions on how toreally make the teaching function in reading section elaborate.This thesis consists of four parts as following:The first part is introduction. This paper describes theresearch background, significance, research status, researchcontent, purpose, methods, and the requirements on the readingsection in the new curriculum standard. The second part makes a comparison from the overalldistribution, presentation and content selection in reading columnbetween the new edition of Chemistry textbook (compulsory one) forsenior middle school published by people’s education press and theHigh school chemistry textbook of Jiangsu Education Press(compulsory one),and We concluded the setting characteristics inthe two editions of reading column.In the third part, we discovered the existing problems andanalyzed its causes, according to the questionnaires and individualinterviews for teachers and students of three high schools in TongziCounty, and from the investigation of four aspects in the readingsection attitude, present use, role, and characteristics ofunderstanding.The forth part puts forward some suggestions on teachingmaterials and teaching according to the comparison of textbooks andsurvey results, and combination with my own teaching practice.
