Research On Family Development Ability Measurement And Its Influence Factors

The family is one of the important subsystems of social system, the basic unit of thesociety and the microenvironment in where each individual survive, live and develop.Family’s response to social and economic changes is most sensitive and rapidly in all socialorganizations. With the increasingly modernization, diversifica-tion and high-speedingdevelopment of society, families not only enjoy the increase-ingly modern, convenient anddiversified service, but also faced with the various risks, pressures, challenges, even threatsbrought about by the rapid development of society. Along with the social changes and thedemographic transition, families also changed dramatically in the development process initself, mainly embodied in the family size, type, function, structure and so on. The ability ofadapting to the social development, shielding against risks, maintaining family stability andpromoting the development of family and its members belong to the family developmentability."Family development ability" is the newly proposed concept and the theory research onthis aspect is also absence which only involves the definition of the concept and connotationin present researches. Based on the background of the first introduce the "improve the abilityof family development" into the national12th five-year plan outline, and on the data of ChinaFamily Panel Studies，CFPS for short, from2010to2011, through sorting and repairing thedata, with the combination of the quantitative and qualitative analysis, this thesis adopts theAnalytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in an microcosmic and multidimensional view andmeasures the family development ability of the families of the surveyed areas, which can bedivided into five grades. Then the thesis describes the present situation of the familydevelopment ability and analyzes the influence factors quantitatively.This paper has four parts. The first part describes the background, purpose and meaningof the research. And it also summarizes the relevant literature, introduces the research object,research method and content, theoretical basis and the innovation point. The second partintroduces the data used by the paper and the process of data handling briefly, then describe basic situation of the sample households, cover the province, urban-rural, population situation,family economy and so on. In the third part, it sets up the measurement index system toestimate the family development ability. Adopting the analytic hierarchy process combinewith the specialist-scored method, it work out comprehensive index of family developmentability and classify the families by grade. Finally, using the measurement results about familydevelopment ability, selecting suitable independent variables, the paper analysis theinfluencing factors of family development ability by Ordinal Logistic Regression, then it putsforward some suggestions and countermeasures.
