The constitution is the law of the mother, is the fundamental law of the state,so,the constitution is not only a law, but also is the political system of a country basicprogram. In most countries which have much nations, the national problem is thebasic problem,power arrangement between nations often determine the fortunes ofthe country, The vast majority of countries will regulate the distribution of powerbetween various ethnic groups through the constitution. The national problem is acomplex problem in Ethiopia, because the contradiction and conflict between ethnicexperienced decades of war. In1994, the Ethiopia people’s Revolutionary DemocraticFront promulgate the constitution of Ethiopia. Over the past20years,Ethiopia hasmaintained the domestic political stability, in sharp contrast to war of other Africancountry, its basic reason lies in the1994constitution of national autonomous system,This system has not only given the national autonomous rights to all Ethiopian ethnicgroups, even given the separation right to Nationality Autonomous Prefecture andproduced a significant impact.National autonomous including cultural autonomy, political autonomy andeconomic autonomy, political autonomy is the core of national autonomy, so we justdiscussed the political autonomy.In this paper, through analyzing the nationalquestion in modern Ethiopia and carding constitutional history of Ethiopia onnational autonomous system,we will have a comprehensive grasp of the Ethiopianational autonomous system in the background. Then, through the powerdistribution as the breakthrough point, we will analyzes the main contents of thesystem. Finally,we will review the great influence of the system in Ethiopia.
