Study On Science And Technology Ethics Awarness In American Science Fiction Films

Science fiction film is the product of the combination of art and science and technology. As a medium, science fiction film plays an active role on the addressing the coming possible ethical issues, dissemination of science and technology ethics awareness and moral education function. This paper takes the American science fiction film as the object of study and explores the science and technology ethics behinds it, in order to make the science fiction film education function, strengthen the ethical awareness of science and technology workers and improve the audience’s science and technology literacy.Based on the science and technology ethics theory, this paper probes into the science and technology ethics education of American science fiction film and develops around the ethical problem reflected from the American science fiction film with employment of literature analysis, case study method and systematic science method. The American science fiction film can reflect environmental ethical issues from three aspects, including environmental ethical issues, which involves the ethical issues and climate justice issues arising from relations between man and nature; bioethical issues, including the ethical problems caused by either cloning technology or gene technology; as well as the ethical problems of artificial intelligence, including the people-organ system of ethical issues, the responsibility ethic problems of artificial intelligence. Based on the ethical issues reflected by the content of the American science fiction film, this paper takes an insight into the characteristics of science and technology ethics awareness, including that the science fiction film plays the role of triggering moral imagination to make people imagine the future possible ethical issues, display technology personnel’s professional ethical responsibility and social responsibility and analyze the "double-edged sword" effect of science and technology on people’s development in an all-round way, the blocks it brings to social progress and damage to the environment.As the American science fiction film contains abundant science and technology ethics awareness, it can play an educational role:first of all, the American science fiction film advocates a forward-looking responsibility ethics, which can cultivate the natural responsibility awareness for the future people and nature; secondly, the American science fiction film can help realize the suffering awareness alarm function, thus strengthen it; finally, it can provide virtual case for the science and technology ethical analysis which can enrich the ethical education and brings certain research value to the innovation of science and technology ethics education method. The enlightenments found through the research on the American science fiction film can be manifested through two aspects, on the one hand, the moral education function of Chinese science fiction films should be strengthened, on the other hand, the creative talents with science and technology ethics awareness on producing films should be vigorously developed to provide the support to the development of ethical education of science and technology in China.
