Designing industry is innovating every minute. The idea of design has permeatedinto very corner of our life, from daily diet to the spiritual level. In this new era ofvigorous development of IT technology, software and mobile internet industry iseverywhere in our daily life. The user interface of software (UI) is an essentialplatform for communication between users and software products. The color emotionof this interface is the first visual element of the user in their experience of the product, and also an extremely important foundation for the success of the product. Cool colortones occupy the UI color in most cases, allowing users to operate in a morecomfortable visual environment, in order to win "ratings" for the software products.Through a comprehensive research of both domestic and international literatures,we found that there are already many studies out there in the field, focusing on UIdesign. These studies have rendered many important conclusions and improvements. However, few of these studies concentrated on the aspect of UI color, especiallyanalyzing the difference between the "cold" in users’ need and the cool color tonesfrom a psychological point of view. Our study will focus on the availability anddegree of experience of cool color tones in the UI design, and emphasize theimportance and characteristics of UI color from the rational and emotional point ofview. Moreover, we’ll analyze the psychological changes of users facing “cold” colorsin order to guide the combining the software UI color and the cool color tones infuture practice. The research of cool color tones has great meaning to UI.According to the color experience of the "flavoring agent" in “cold” colors aswell as the cool color tone in warm environment, we conclude that the colorful “coolcolor tones” is not what is needed in UI color, but rather the flexible interactionsbetween different hues of cold gray tone, which is the key for long-term success ofthe UI. On the other hand, those too bright, strong irritant colors are more applicableto the poster and packaging industry. Different purposes of design will render diverseresults. UI color is supposed to provide the customers with a platform, which will helpthem make better use of software functions and understand the features of thesoftware. Combining static and dynamic will provide convenience to the user’s life orother aspects. Nevertheless, the aesthetic differences and emotional needs of everyoneis a key challenge to the UI designers. After emotional analysis software UI colors, we found that users tend to preferbright and clear UI color and also more “customer-friendly” appearance. According tothe differences between public and industrial users, we discovered that public usershave various preferences on colors, while industrial users have certain routines andcharacteristics to follow, which makes the UI designers quickly make sure thedirection of “cool color”. Users like the software by the attraction of cool color tonewhile the increasing use and the value of the software.
