Garden Balsam Stem is named as medicine qu grass, deliver grass, etc., and its whole plant can be used as a medicine. It is used as a traditional Chinese medicine for a long medical history due to its significant antioxidant effect. In the present study, Garden Balsam Stem from Weiyuan county of Gansu province was used to screen and analyze the antioxidants, and the high activity of composition was separated and obtained.In order to get the antioxidant activity of different polarity and preparation of the antioxidant activity, Garden Balsam Stem was treated with different polarity solvent extraction and separate respectively. In order to screen the best antioxidant, the antioxidant activity evaluation index was used to compare the activity of different part of Garden Balsam Stem, and then the composition of the best positions are qualitative quantitative analysis. In the present study, the in vitro antioxidant activity evaluation method is as following: DPPH free radical, hydroxyl free radical, superoxide anion removal ability, compare the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) and the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation;Antioxidant activity. Moreover, the evaluation methods in vivo is as follows: based on the interference test in mice, mice in kits testing trends, SOD and MDA content in serum detection in mouse liver superoxide dismutase(SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) and catalase(CAT) dynamic change trend. The results are as follows:1. The antioxidant activity of parts were developed respectively: petroleum ether part 1.254 g, the extraction rate is 0.63%; Chloroform part 1.886 g, the extraction rate is 0.94%;Ethyl acetate parts of 2.062 g, the extraction rate is 1.03%;N-butanol part 2.468 g, the extraction rate is 1.234%;Water area of 8.968 g, the extraction yield of 4.484%.2. DPPH activity, hydroxyl radicals, superoxide anion free radical removal ability of Ethyl acetate parts in Garden Balsam Stem are highest. The results showed a significant concentration dependence effect(P<0.05).When the concentration is low, ethyl acetate parts of the T-AOC is significantly higher than other parts(P<0.05). When the concentration increases to 0.5mg/m L, the concentration of ethyl acetate parts showed significant effect, and the concentration of the other parts showed no significant dependence effect. However, when the concentration increases to 2.5mg/m L, the concentration of each part are showed significant dependence effect, among them, ethyl acetate parts of the T-AOC fastest rising. Extracts from different parts of Garden Balsam Stem has inhibiting effect on lipid peroxidation, and the inhibition effect of each part were showed a concentration dependent effect, the ethyl acetate parts showed significantly dose dependence effect within the range of 1-4 mg/m L concentration(P<0.05).3. Compared with normal control group, model group mice in the serum SOD activity decreased significantly, the MDA content significantly increased(P<0.05). After the antioxidant activity site of Garden Balsam Stem was intervened with carnosine and ethyl acetate parts, the carnosine and ethyl acetate of Garden Balsam Stem antioxidant activity areas can significantly reduce the MDA content in the model mice, improve the model in the serum SOD vitality in mice. Compared with normal control group, model group of mice liver SOD, GSH-Px and CAT activity decreased significantly and MDA content increased significantly(P<0.05). After the antioxidant activity site of Garden Balsam Stem was intervened with carnosine and ethyl acetate parts, the results showed that carnosine and acetic ester antioxidant activity Garden Balsam Stem parts model can significantly reduce the MDA content in mice liver, improve the model of mouse liver gsh-px, SOD and CAT activity.4. The ethyl acetate parts of Garden Balsam Stem was found to contain antioxidant activity component quercetin and kaempferia galanga phenol using HPLC method, and their contents were 0.033 mg/g and 0.021 mg/g.
