Purpose:To analysis the self-perceived burden and quality of life of PICC chemotherapy patients, and identify the effect of peer education intervention on chemotherapy patients with PICC in self-perceived burden and quality of life, so as to provide reference for clinical nursing staff.Methods:1. A retrospective cohort study: according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for selection during June 2015 August in Xinjiang in four hospitals in chemotherapy of tumor patients a total of 256 cases, in which the band PICC tube chemotherapy patients 204 cases(PICC Group), catheter chemotherapy 52 cases(non PICC group), to analyze the relationship between anxiety, depression, self-perceived burden and quality of life with PICC in cancer chemotherapy patients.2. Peer education intervention study: 35 cases of PICC with tube tumor chemotherapy patients as the experimental object, according to the pipeline maintenance date of different dynamic randomly assigned to the intervention group(15 cases) and the control group(20cases). The intervention group received the intervention group in addition to the general education. The control group received routine education in the hospital, the anxiety, depression, self-perceived burden and quality of life of the two groups before and after the intervention.3. Statistical method: the SPSS 19.0 for data for general statistical description, using two sample t-test and non-parametric test for univariate analysis, using non conditional logistic regression to explore the influence factors, compared before and after the intervention of self-perceived burden, quality of life changes using repeated measures analysis of variance. All of the above tests were statistically significant with P value less than 0.05.Results:1. The incidence of anxiety, self-perceived burden and quality of life were not statistically significant in patients with PICC and non-PICC patients. The incidence of depression in PICC group was 5.106(1.183 to 22.031) times of non-PICC group.2. Patients with PICC self-perceived burden, affecting the quality of life factors analysis of self-perceived burden of factors including: the stented vessels, place of residence, family income(P < 0.05), the difference was statistically significant; influencing factors of quality of life include: health insurance type, to take care of their KPS, family income(P < 0.05), the difference was statistically significant.3. Peer education intervention effect evaluation Self perceived burden: the score of the intervention group was lower than that of the control group, P<0.05, the difference was statistically significant. Quality of life: after the intervention, the quality of life of theintervention group was higher than that of the control group, P<0.05, the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion:1. PICC as a chemotherapy infusion device, and can’t improve the patient’s self-perceived burden and quality of life, but it is a risk factor for depression.2. PICC patients with the presence of self-perceived burden of experience, should pay attention to the family income is low, living in rural areas, the main caregivers for parents,PICC into the blood vessels for patients who are not your veins.3. Peer education before and after the intervention in two groups of patients with anxiety,self-perceived burden scores decreased, a month intervention after the intervention group self-perceived burden body score was significantly lower than that of the control group. The results show that the peer education as the core of the group psychological intervention can effectively relieve patients of anxiety, reduce the physical dimensions of self-perceived burden level and improve the quality of life of the patients.
