| Acorus tatarinowii Schott., belonging to the plants of Araceae L., is an aquatic perennial herbaceous plant. Its rhizomes have been used as a traditional medicine in China for the treatment of various disorders including amnesia, epilepsy and cognitive problems. We confirmed that water-soluble extracts of A.tatarinowii have anti-Alzheimer’s Disease activity for the first by the pharmaceutical studies. Then, under the guidance of anti-Alzheimer’s Disease activity screening, we determined the preparation process method of the bioactive fraction without asarone(the toxic components) by the extracting with water extract-alcohol precipitation and purification with macroporous resin and activated charcoal techniques. This preparation method is suitable for industrial production by the technological conditions adopted in the pilot test. The molecular weight in the range of 700~8000 part of the bioactive fraction is the main compounds with multiple targets associated with AD by the exploring research. The qualitative and quantitative analyses of bioactive fraction were been carried out.The content of total polysaccharidesã€total amino acidsã€total polypeptideã€free monosaccharide and amino acids of the bioactive fraction were determined by a spectrophotometric method and HPLC analysis and we established the preliminary quality control methods. The content of total polysaccharidesã€total amino acidsã€total polypeptide of three batch of bioactive fraction were also determined, and the results showed that the preparation process is an ideal process with characteristics of stable operation. |
