Objective:To evaluate the clinical outcome and operation procedure of the degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods:Data of 148 patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis who had undergone different decompression procedures were retrospectively analyzed, including males and females, aged from 41to76 years (average,60.5years),duration of symptom from 4 to 38 months(average,24.8 months). Patients of instability group(group A) received posterior lumbar interbody fusion while normanl group(group B)received selective fenestration and deeompr﹕sion.JOA(Japnese Orthopaedic Association) score was used to assess the clinical effect postoperatively. Results:Postoperative clinical curative effect of using the Japanese orthopaedic association (JOA) score and Oswestry disability index (ODI), to the patients before treatment and to evaluate changes in quality of life at the time of postoperative follow-up.Two kinds of evaluation methods have shown reduced pressure group, the fixed group of preoperative and postoperative scores and period difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Surgical decompression is the main method of treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis disease, preoperative according to patients condition, Patients of instability group received posterior lumbar interbody fusion while normanl group received selective fenestration and decompression has an obvious curative effect,a good clinical effect can be obtianed.
