ObjectiveTo understand the clinical pharmacist’s role in the management of cancer-induced pain. Investigating clinical pharmacists could improve the patient’s cancer pain treatment effect and improve the quality of life of patients.MethodsScreening patients of cancer pain in hospital and grouping them into two groups: treatment group and control group, just like RCT(randomized controlled trial). The pharmaceutical care was carried out in the patients with cancer-induced pain for discovering the problems on drug therapy, optimizing the drug therpy regimens, and carrying out patient education. After 5 days pharmaceutical care, the improvement in cancer-induced pain, quality of life, breakthrough pain and adverse drug reaction were compared with conventional treatment.Result37 patients with cancer-induced pain were allocated for pharmaceutical care and 37 patients with cancer-induced pain were allocated for conventional treatment. The remission rate of observation group were rised from 13.99±11.12%to 25.38±16.11%, which were extremely higher than conventional treatment (P<0.05); the patients’ occurrence rate of ADRs were decreased from 51.35% to 32.43%, which were extremely lower than conventional treatment(P<0.05); The patients’ remission rate of breakthrough pain were raised from 45.46% to 70.00%, which were extremely higher than conventional treatment (P<0.05).ConclusionIt is important to notice that the clinical pharmacists who involved in cancer pain management could help reducing cancer-induced pain and improving the patients’ quality of life. Therefore, clinical pharmacists should actively cooperate with the clinician in rounds and treatment plan optimization, in order to help patients get better pain control. Clinical pharmacists should make medication education for patients, and together with clinicians for outbreak of cancer pain treatment plan ahead of schedule, in order to effectively prevent the incidence of adverse reactions in patients with pain and improve the remission rate of pain.
