Objective: To compare short-term clinical efficacy of laparoscopic and open rectal cancer radical surgery. Methods: selected 133 patients of colorectal cancer in our hospital in radical surgery from June 2013 to December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed, laparoscopic(68 patients), open(65 cases), Comparative analysis of two groups the patient’s operation time, blood loss, length of resected specimens, number of lymph node dissection, gastrointestinal function recovery time, length of stay and short-term complications(anastomotic leakage, postoperative abdominal bleeding, surgeryrelated organ damage, wound infection and fat liquefaction, abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, bowel obstruction) and other indicators. Results: the difference of the general condition of patients age, sex, tumor size, tumor distance from the anal margin, tumor differentiation and Dukes stage was not statistically significant(P> 0.05), the laparoscopic group than open group operation time increase(P<0.05), the laparoscopic group blood loss was significantly reduced(P<0.05), length of incision laparoscopic group was significantly less than the open group, postoperative indwelling catheter time, gastrointestinal tract function recovery time and hospital stay were shorter(P<0.05); laparoscopic group overall incidence of postoperative complications 12/68 cases, the rate was 17.64%, 21/65 cases of complications in open group, the rate was 32.30%, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion: Compared with open surgery, laparoscopic rectal cancer resection via a small incision, less trauma, less blood loss, rapid postoperative recovery, shorter hospital stay, less complication.
