ObjectiveWith application of DCE-MRI,this study records changes of dynamic enhancement in orbital tumors. It analyses enhancement curves and quantitative parameters of benign and malignant tumors, and those common orbital tumors, so as to explore the clinical value of quantitative DCE-MRI in diagnosis of orbital tumors. Methods In this study,116 orbital tumors were enrolled. MRI and DCE-MRI orbit scan were performed in each subject before surgical intervention. The use of Siemens 3.0T MR(Syngo) workstation receives the time signal intensity curve, and calculates quantitative parameters, including volume transfer constant(Ktrans) and the rate constant(Kep). Then statistical analysis was carried out.Results1、The carve types of benign and malignant tumors :The carve types of benign tumors was type I 57.9%(44/76),type II 32.9%(25/76) and type III 9.2%(7/76).While that of malignant tumors was type I 2.5%(1/40),type II 32.5%(13/40) and type III 65%(26/40).There were sinificant difference between benign and malignant orbital tumors(c2=49.404,p=0.000<0.05).2、The carve types of lymphomas and inflammatory pseudotumor:The carve types of lymphomas was type II 28.6%(4/14) and type III 71.4%(10/14).While that of inflammatory pseudotumor was type I 31.6%(6/19),type II 57.9%(11/19) and type III 10.5%(2/19).There were sinificant difference between lymphomas and inflammatory pseudotumor(p=0.001<0.05).3、The carve types of cavernous hemangioma and neurilemmoma:The carve types of cavernous hemangioma was type I 87.5%(12/14) and type II 14.3%(2/14).While that of neurilemmoma was type I 100%(8/8).There were no sinificant difference between cavernous hemangioma and neurilemmoma(p=0.515>0.05).4、The carve types of adenoid cystic carcinoma and pleomorphic adenoma:The carvetypes of adenoid cystic carcinoma was type II 33.3%(4/12) and type III 66.7%(8/12).While that of pleomorphic adenoma was type I 50%(4/8) and type II50%(4/8).There were sinificant difference between adenoid cystic carcinoma and pleomorphic adenoma(p=0.003<0.05).5、The Ktransand Kep value in benign and malignant tumors:The Ktransvalue in benign tumors was significant difference from that in malignant tumors(p=0.000<0.05).The Kep value in benign tumors was significant difference from that in malignant tumors(p=0.000<0.05).6、The Ktransand Kep value in lymphomas and inflammatory pseudotumor:The Ktrans value in lymphomas was significant difference from that in inflammatory pseudotumor(p=0.000<0.05).The Kep value in lymphomas was significant difference from that in inflammatory pseudotumor(p=0.002<0.05).7、The Ktransand Kep value in in cavernous hemangioma and neurilemmoma:The Ktrans value cavernous hemangioma was significant difference from that in neurilemmoma(p=0.037<0.05).The Kep value in cavernous hemangioma was significant difference from that in neurilemmoma(p=0.000<0.05).8、The Ktransand Kep value in adenoid cystic carcinoma and pleomorphic adenoma:The Ktrans value in adenoid cystic carcinoma was significant difference from that in pleomorphic adenoma(p=0.000<0.05).The Kep value in adenoid cystic carcinoma was significant difference from that in pleomorphic adenoma(p=0.000<0.05).Conclusions1、The quantitative DCE-MRI has clinical value in the identification of orbital tumors, and its quantitative parameters(Ktransand Kep) can be considered as a quantitative method to distinguish orbital tumors.2 、 The curve type of quantitative DCE-MRI can be used to assist the Clinical diagnosis in orbital tumors, and it can be considered as a method for identification of orbital tumors.
