| ObjectiveThis study is to observe the therapeutic effect of an acupuncture treatment guided by "Jin’s three-needle" theory in treating the partial side limb swelling after stroke by comparing with the conventional acupuncture. Aiming to explore a more effective method.MethodsAll patients (n=60) were randomized into treatment group (n=30) and control group (n=30). The treatment group was given acupuncture treatment guided by "Jin’s three-needle" theory, while the control group was treated by conventional acupuncture. Both groups were treated once per day, five times a week,20 times for a period of treatment. Changes in perimeter, degree and range of swelling and limb movement function, were statistically compared before and after treatment and then used SPSS19.0 statistical software for data analysis.Results1. Baseline data evaluation:two groups were comparable before treatment in general information (gender, age, course of the disease), by chi-square analysis (P>0.05),2. Clinical curative effect evaluation:in the treatment group,10 cases were basically recovered, a significant progress in 18 cases and effective in 2 cases, the total effective rate was 100%, the efficiency was 93.10%. While basic recovery in 5 cases in the control group, significant progress in 14 cases, effective in 11 cases, the total effective rate was 100% and the efficiency was 60.71%. By the Ridit analysis, significant difference was found in two groups (P<0.05). So we found that "Jin’s three-needle" theory to guide the acupuncture group seems to be more effective in terms of reducing the degree and range of limb swelling to the conventional acupuncture group.3. Observing all evaluation indices in limbs swelling scale before and after treatment had significant difference in groups and between groups (P<0.05). Both groups are effective for limb swelling, but the "Jin’s three-needle" theory to guide acupuncture group improved more significantly.4. By comparing the quantitative indexes about the drop of the perimeter difference between the suffered limb and the healthy one, there was more significant difference in the attachment which was midpoint of metacarpophalangeal joint and transverse wrise crease or metatarsophalangeal joint and ankle horizontal grain (P<0.05) and was no obvious difference between two groups in the metacarpophalangeal or metatarsophalangeal joint (P>0.05).5. Measured by the scale of of limb paralysis condition after stroke between the two groups. Both groups achieved a significant decrease in score as well as the treatment group guided by "Jin’s three-needle" theory had outstanding performance in improving the function of limb movement.ConclusionTo sum up, "Jin’s three-needle " acupuncture therapy and routine acupuncture group can both improve the limb movement function and reduce limb swelling after stroke in the different degree. However, the prior one is more effective and comprehensive that is worth wide used in the clinical. |
