Silicon polymer has good thermal stability and chemical inertness because of its special molecular structure, while the oil resistant of silicon polymer is bad. But this disadvantage of silicon polymer could be corrected when fluorine monomer is added, which makes the fluorine-silicon polymers have the properties of silicon polymers and the advantages of fluorine monomers, and a broader range of applications in more fields. Silicon hydrogel is an important branch of silicon polymer. Due to the excellent biological compatibility, silicon hydrogel was used extensively in biomaterial field, while the surface protein adsorption limits the wider use of silicon hydrogel.In this paper, silicon hydrogel was chosen as research subject. We used fluorine monomer modified the silicon hydrogel and studied the influences of those modification on resisting protein adsorption of silicon hydrogel surface.First, different kind and different content of fluorine monomers were added in the formula making silicon hydrogel to make two series of fluorine-silicon hydrogels. We studied whether the kind and the content of fluorine monomers would have effects on repelling protein adsorption. And the results showed that the different kind and different content of fluorine monomer had different effect on different proteins.Second, fluorine monomer HDFTES and SiO2 nanoparticles were grafted on the surface of silicon hydrogel to make super-hydrophobic surface with enhanced surface roughness and fluorine monomer. We studied the effect of this surface modification on resisting protein adsorption of silicon hydrogel surface. By contrast, we made a super-hydrophilic surface for silicon hydrogel to study its influence on anti-protein. And the results indicated that both the super-hydrophobic surface and super-hydrophilic surface have function on resisting protein adsorption, but have different function on different proteins.Last, the method to make silicon surface super-hydrophobic was used to modify the surface of glass. The results showed that this method could make glass surface super-hydrophobic successfully, and the modified surface could last long and be of scratch resistant.
