| Backgrounds and objectiveCytoskeleton-associated protein 4(CKAP4,MW 63KD), also known as CKAP4,one kind of type II trans-membrane protein, The expression of CKAP4 in cholangiocarcinoma and its role in the initiation and development of cholangiocarcinoma has not been reported. The objective this research to investigate the expression of CKAP4 protein in cholangiocarcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods: Immunohistoehemistry DAB method was used to detect the CKAP4 protein expression in 53 cases of cholangiocarcinoma tissue and 10 cases of normal bile duct tissue. The relationship between CKAP4 expression and clinicopathological parameters and survival were analyzed statistically. Results: The positive expression rates of CKAP4 protein in cholangiocarcinoma and normal bile duct tissue were 71.7 and 20%,respectively(P<0.05).The positive rates of CKAP4 were significantly higher in the cases of non-metastasis of lymphonode and stageâ… or stage â…¡ than those lymphatic metastasis and stageâ…¢ or stage â…£(P<0.05).Kaplan—Meier analysis showed that increased expression of CKAP4 was associated with increased overall survival(P<0.01).CKAP4 expression together with tumor clinical stage proved to be independent prognostic parameters in Multivariate Cox regression analysis. Conclusion:The expression of CKAP4 protein in cholangiocarcinoma tissue is higher than normal people and its might be closely related to the carcinogenesis, clinical biological behaviors and prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma. |
