Objective:Treat patients with type prediabetes with Shaolin Internal Qigong. Observe and evaluate the therapeutic effect of different exercise frequency, clear the dose-effect relationship of Shaolin Internal Qigong. Provide a more efficient and reliable support for the treatment of prediabetes with Shaolin Internal Qigong.Methods:60 patients who met the inclusion criteria and met no exclusion criteria were randomly divided into Shaolin1 group 10 cases, Shaolin2 group 10 cases, Shaolin3 group 10 cases, Shaolin4 group 10 cases, walking control group 10 cases and blank control group 30 cases. Shaolin groups were told to practice Shaolin Internal Qigong exercise 1/day,2/day,3/day,4/day. The walking control group was instructed to walk at moderate pace 30min,2/day. The blank control group had no instructions. FBG,2hPBG, HbAlc were chosed as evaluation index. Assessment was done before the intervention,3 months after the intervention and 6 months after the intervention. The efficacy was evaluated by comparing the parameters before and after the intervention in each group. The difference among groups was compared to clear the advantages and the dose-effect relationship of Shaolin Internal Qigong. Results:The difference of age, sex and parameters before intervention had no statistical difference (P>0.05) between the six groups. The baseline of the six groups was consistent and comparable.Compared with the parameters before the intervention, Shaolin groups had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) in 3 months after the intervention and 6 months after the intervention. When the difference of FBG among groups was compared, Shaolin groups had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with the blank control group, Shaolin3 group had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with the walking control group. When the difference of 2hPBG among groups was compared, Shaolin groups had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with the blank control group, Shaolin2 group and Shaolin 4 group had statistical significance (P<0.05) with the walking control group, Shaolin3 group had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with the walking control group. When the difference of HbAlc among groups was compared, Shaolin groups had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with the blank control group, Shaolin3 group and Shaolin 4 group had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with the walking control group. The dose-effect relationship analysis shows Shaolin 3 group had significantly statistical significance (P<0.01) with other groups. Conclusions:Practising Shaolin Internal Qigong could significantly improve the patient’s FBG,2hPBG and HbAlc which is better than health education. Regarding the improvement of FBG and 2hPBG, practising Shaolin Internal Qigong 3/day is better than walking practice. Regarding the improvement of HbAlc, practising Shaolin Internal Qigong 3/day and 4/day are better then walking practice. The dose-effect relationship shows practicing Shaolin Internal Qigong 3/day has the best curative effect on type 2 prediabetes.
