| As one of the branchs of health-keeping in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), post natal health-keeping is valued by ancient and modern physicians. Relevant contents were recordes dispersedly in TCM literatures of different dynasties, which is adverse to modern clinical systermatic study and use. Regarding Union Catalog of TCM Books in China and Great Dictionary of Chinese Medical Books as links, contens related to postpartum recovery, maintaining, contraindications, disease, etc. in more than 70 relative books belonging to periods during Sprine and Autumn Period and Qing Dynasty are sorted out systematically within the scope of health-keeping methods and involved literature by referencing bibliographies listed in Traditional Chinese Gynecology, Medical History in China and Guide to TCM Literatures. Meanwhile, modern literatures are used as references and prooves to sum up principles and methods of health-keeping, so as to detect the reference value of TCM health-keeping for current post natal health-keeping.The results of sorting present that TCM postpartum health-keeping, which dated from Spring and Autumn Period, sprouted during Qin Dynasty and Han Dynasty, and developed in Wei, Jin, Southen and Norten Dynasties, then formed in Sui Dynastey and Tang Dynasty and improved gradually in Song Dynasty, finally enriched in Jin and Yuan Dynasties, and promoted in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The main five postpartum health-keeping methods in relevant literatures of historical periods are diet, drugs, living,sex and acupuncture and moxibustion. The principles of diet health are that it is advisable to eat warm food, porridge and salt-less food, and it is banned to drink after delivery and intake indigestive food. Principles of drugs health are replenishing qi and blood, maintaining spleen and stomach and eliminate stasis, especially the special useage of Shenghua Decoction and urine of boys under twelve, with which principles of medication contraindications are avoiding wind drugs, qi-consuming and qi-guiding drugs, indigestion-curing drugs, cold drugs, intaking warm and tonified drugs immediately, stasis-breaking drugs, diuretic and purgative drugs. Main principles on living health focuse on application of contraindication rules like recovery time should be 3-4 months, do not lie down for long time after delivery, fatigue, wind and cold, and rage afer delivery should be avoided. Sex principle is forbiding sex during first 3-4 months. In the principle of acupuncture and moxibustion,three aspects are applied concretely. From the aspect of acupuncture and moxibustion, treatment based on syndrome differentiation, using acupuncture and moxibustion simultaneously, and using acupuncture, moxibustion and drugs simultaneously need to be complied with. The principles of reiforcing and reducing are treating dificiency with tonification, and treating excess with purgation. The basis of selectng acupoints are selecting distal acupoints or selecting proximal acupoints according to the condition.The results of analying literatures menifest that the unique thoughts of post natal health-keeping in ancient China provide experience and reference for current situation of health-keeping, in which large numbers of health-keeping principles and methods supply increasing choices for recent postpartum health-keeping, and open up a new approach of clinical prevention and treating in gynecology as well. |
