The Study Of Professor Li Kunyin’s Experience Of Treating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Of Kidney Yang Deficiency

ObjectiveThe study aims at exploring Professor Li Kunyin’s experience of treating polycystic ovary syndrome of kidney Yang deficiency. With research on the effect of treating 80 PCOS patients of kidney Yang deficiency by Modified Shenqi Pill, the study also explores the clinic value of Modified Shenqi Pill on PCOS treating, so as to provide a vital medication for TCM physicians.MethodsExperience sunmmary:To explore the orinins of Professor Li’s academic theary, to summarize his opinion on pathogenesis of PCOS, and to sum up his experience of treating kidney-deficient polycystic ovary syndrome.Clinical research section:The first step of the research is to collect informations of kidney-deficient PCOS patients who were treated in Professor Li’s clinic from January 2014 to December 2015.After strictly picking out, we selecte cases and analysize them, comparing the changages of menstrual cycle, the level of serum LH and FSH, percentage of FH/FSH, serum total testosterone level, BBT, BMI, acne symptom and pregnancy after treating. Besides, according to the length of treatment, divide cases into two groups:patients having received no less than 3 courses of treatment, and patients having received less than 3 courses of treatment. Compare two groups in terms of improving degree of kidney-deficient syndromes. Record the relevant information in detail, quantitative datas, establish Excel database and import it into SPSS18.0 statistical software for further analysis.ResultsExperience sunmmary:Huangdi Nei jing stresses the role of kidney. Jin Gui Yao Lue was the first to come up with Shen Qi Wan. Jing Yue Quan Shu holds the opinion of nourishing Yin to tonify Yang. Fu Qingzhu’s Works on Gynecology and Obstetrics means to tonify kidney-yang so as to provide a better inner environment for pregnancy. As far as Professor Li concerns, the key pathogenesis of PCOS lies in kidney-deficiency. The treatment should be based on the kidney. We can nourish Yin to tonify Yang. Professor Li is good at treating PCOS with Modified Shenqi Pill.Clinical research section:1.General:This study cases include a total of 80 cases, patients age 18 to 35. The average age is 25.81 ± 3.64 years;the average duration is 3.27 ± 152 years;the course of treatment vary from 1 to 6, and average courses of treatment is 2.66 ± 1.81.2.Modified Shenqi Pill improves whole syndromes of kidney-deficiency: after treatment,80 cases of Chinese patients with general symptoms have 1 cases were cured, accounted for 1.4%; 18 cases were markedly effective,24.3%; 49 cases were effective, accounted for 66.2%; 6 cases invalid,8.1%. Among them, is more than or equal to 3 period of treatment group in patients with clinical symptoms of improvement than< 3 treatment group obviously, the difference has statistical significance (P< 0.01).3. Modified Shenqi Pill improves single syndrome of kidney-deficiency: Among the kidney-deficient syndromes of 80 patients, the abnormal menstrual cycle occurs most frequently (78 cases), followed by cold-feeling symptoms (75 cases), then lassitude symptoms (65 cases), backache symptoms (62 example). After treatment, each kidney-deficient syndrome has improved to some extent. Among 78 patients of abnormal menstrual cycle,11 patients were cured,1 cases were obviously improved,37 cases were improved,29 cases were not improved; Among 42 patients of abnormal amount and color of mense,16 patients were cured, 17 cases were obviously improved,11 cases were improved,8 cases were not improved; Among 62 patients of backache symptoms,16 patients were cured,9 cases were obviously improved,21 cases were improved,16 cases were not improved;Among 75 patients of cold-feeling symptom,11 patients were cured, 23 cases were obviously improved,27 cases were improved,14 cases were not improved; Among 65 patients with symptoms of lassitude,16 patients were cured, 6 cases were obviously improved,30 cases were improved,13 cases were not improved;Among 52 cases of patients with symptoms of dizziness, tinnitus or hearing loss,28 cases were cured, no cases were obviously improved,13 cases were improved,11 cases were not improved;Among 33 patients with loss of sexual desire,22 patients were cured,1 cases was obviously improved,5 cases were improved,5 cases were not improved; Among 40 patients of frequent urination, 15 patients were cured,2 cases were obviously improved,12 cases were improved,11 cases were not improved;Among 40 cases of patients with rotten stool,15 patients were cured,6 cases were obviously improved,9 cases were improved,10 cases were not improved.4.Modified Shenqi Pill improves serum sex hormone:23 patients’s serum LH in this study decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); FSH increased after treatment, compared with that before treatment, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05); LH/FSH value decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);serum total testosterone level decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment, the difference statistically significant (P<0.05).5. Modified Shenqi Pill improves BBT:After treatment,19 patients’s BBT differ from single phase into two phase, accounting for 27.54%.6. Modified Shenqi Pill improves BMIrBefore treatment, a total of 14 cases, accounting for 18.92% were obese. After treatment,80 cases of patients with the average value of BMI decreased slightly (from 22.46±3.97 to 22.25±3.69), the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.01).7. Modified Shenqi Pill improves acne symptom:Before treatment, acne symptom appeared in 37 cases, accounting for 46.25% of the total. Acne symptom has improved after treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).8. Modified Shenqi Pill improves pregnancy:In this study,37 patients have fertility requirements. After treatment, there were 12 cases of successful pregnancy, accounting for 32.43%.Conclusion1. Professor Li Kunyin believes that kidney Yang deficiency is the key etiology of PCOS. While treating, we can nourish Yin to tonify Yang, so as to warm the uterus.Professor Li used to apply Modified Shenqi Pill to the treatment, making great use of Fuzi and Guizhi.2. The Modified Shenqi Pill improves the syndromes of kidney deficioncy, serum sex hormone level, the basal body temperature, body mass index and acne. Modified Shenqi Pill can improve the ovulation situation of kidney-deficient PCOS patients, to create conditions for pregnancy.
