| Objective:Observe the clinical effect of meridian scraping treatment on Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy (CSR).Methods:selected 60 diagnosed patients according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of CSR, randomly divided into treatment group and control group, both eatch 30 patients. Two groups on sex, age, the course of disease are basically the same. The patients of research group were treated by meridian scraping treatment (meridian scraping therapy:apply the horn plate along over the inner and outer meridian path from the elbow to the wrist and neck. The frequency of scraping is about 3 times per second, scraping therapy range was planar, scraping treatment is essentially the same intensity to skin color, skin pain or slight pain or fever for the degree, each meridian scraping 30 times). Patients of control group were treated by massage treatment. The treatment performed once every 2days,10 times treatment as a course, after 1 course to observe clinical efficacy of each group. At last, to compare the VAS assessment (using Visual Analogue method from the simplified McGill pain questionnaire) and related symptoms assessment (using the Tanaka Yasuku’s Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy 20 points method scale) of CSR patients before and after of each group, using statistical software SPSS 18.0 statistical analysis of the data.Result:After a course of treatment, the meridian scraping treatment group:6 cases were cured, markedly effective in 12 cases, effective in 9 cases, ineffective in 3 cases, and the total effective rate was 90.00%; the control group:8 cases were cured,11 cases were markedly effective,9 cases were effective,2 cases were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 93.33%. To the total effective rate, VAS score and symptom score before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference (P> 0.05) between the two groups. After the treatment, VAS assessment score and symptoms score from two groups both shows significantly difference (P<0.01), and the VAS score and symptoms score shows no statistically difference (P>0.05). In the treatment group, score of pain and numbness of both upper limbs and fingers are higher than massage group(P<0.05). As to the score of shoulder-neck pain and discomfort, massage group shows obviously higher than treatment group (P<0.05). No adverse reaction to all the patients during treatment. Conclusions:Both meridian scraping treatment and massage groups show the same good effect to CSR, can significantly reduce the pain and numbness of upper limb or finger. In relieve CSR pain and numbness symptoms of both upper limbs aspect, the treatment effect of meridian scraping shows better than massage. In relieve shoulder-neck pain and discomfort aspect, the massage effect shows better than meridian scraping treatment. Meridian scraping treatment has more advantage such as easy to operate, economical and effective, painless, no side effect. |
