ObjectiveTo explore the effect of lower limb exercise training on the inflammatory absorption, sputum discharge capacity, recovery of activity and the improvement of quality of life in elderly patients with pneumonia. In order to reduce the number of hospital days of senile pneumonia, improve the quality of life of patients discharged from hospital, and to develop a suitable exercise prescription for different elderly people. To provide clinical evidence for the wide use of lower limb motor training in elderly patients with pneumonia.MethodsThe randomized controlled trial methods, the choice of Guangdong Province Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine Institute of respiratory medicine inpatient 2015 July-2016 January diagnosis for a total of 42 cases of pneumonia in elderly patients. Randomly divided into two groups,21 cases in each group were randomly divided into groups. The control group was treated with western medicine anti infection, eliminating phlegm and other conventional treatment and traditional Chinese medicine dialectical therapy.Rehabilitation group on the basis of the control group treatment with lower limb motor training. MOTOMD intelligent exercise training device for lower limb movement training, Training monitoring heart rate, blood oxygen, blood pressure, which makes the training to achieve the target heart rate and heart rate:(220-age) x60~70%, every 20 minutes, once a day, for 7 consecutive days respectively. In treatment of the 1,4,7,10,14,28 days to patients with cough, sputum, fever, dyspnea, chest pain, rales, and other symptoms and signs were followed up, day 1,7 collected from patients with chest X-ray or chest CT treatment, white blood cell count, neutrophil percentage, C reactive protein (CRP), evaluation in patients with inflammatory absorption treatment day 1,28 evaluation in patients with activities of daily living ability (Barth index).Results1.General situation analysisA total of 42 cases were included in the case. Among them,21 cases in the control group, age distribution in 67-91 years old (76.71±6.72),21 cases in the rehabilitation group, age distribution in 65-87 years old (75.57±6.89) .complete follow up of 42 cases. Upon examination, the age, gender, and treatment of inflammatory index, activities of daily living (ADL), symptoms and signs of scoring, basic disease differences between the two groups had no statistical significance (P>0.05).2. Comparison of symptoms and signs before and after treatment in two groups。After the treatment, the rehabilitation group and the control group comparison in dyspnea on two groups score differences have statistical significance (P<0.05), cough, sputum, fever, chest pain, rales difference in no statistical significance (P>0.05). In the reduction of asthma the rehabilitation group was better than the control group.3. Two groups of inflammation indexAfter treatment, the total number of white blood cells, CRP, neutrophil percentage before treatment in control group and rehabilitation group were decreased, the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05).4. comparison of activities of daily living (ADL) in two groupsCompared to first days after treatment, the control group and rehabilitation group were improved, the improvement of ADL in rehabilitation group was higher than that in control group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).5. Comparison of two groups of patients with chest X-ray absorptionAfter seventh days of treatment, the control group total effective rate 62%, the total effective rate of rehabilitation group was 95.3%, the difference was statistically significant (P=0.02), the rehabilitation group was better than the control group.6. Comparison of the hospitalized time between two groups. There was no significant difference in the length of stay between the control group and the rehabilitation group (P>0.05).ConclusionThis study suggests that elderly pneumonia pulmonary rehabilitation is safe and feasible, the lower limb movement training can effectively improve the elderly patients with pneumonia dyspnea symptoms, promote the absorption of inflammation of the lungs and improvement on ability of daily life of patients have a role, but the effect of rehabilitation to maintain needs long-term family pulmonary rehabilitation training.
