Objective:To investigate the effect of microsurgical varicocelectomy on sperm DNA fragmentatiom in varicocele(VC) patients, and to supply some theory on clinical medication. Methods:We recruited 62 VC patients, all of them underwent microsurgical varicocelectomy. Compare sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI) inbefore and after microsurgical varicocelectomy. Results:Compared with pre-operation(30.42±8.57%),VC patients got remarkable decrease in DFI 3 months(22.65±5.57%) and 6 months(17.65±5.48%) after the surgery. The post-operative percentages of sperm DFI in those with grades Ⅰ-Ⅲ VC(30.82±10.57%、29.84±7.53%、31.21±8.61%) were all markedly lower(P<0.01), but showed no significant correlation with the grades. And the post-operative percentages of sperm DFI in those with Normal(27.33±6.63 %)and abnormal(33.31±9.25%) semen routine were significantly lower(P<0.01). Conclusion:VC increase sperm DFI, microsurgical varicocelectomy can decrease it.
