Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of application of high- frequencycolor Doppler ultrasound in differential diagnosis of soft tissue mass on the bodysurface. Methods: Taken the pathological results as the gold standard, the ultras-onographic imaging features of 252 pathologically confirmed soft tissue masses on the body surface were retrospectively analyzed, to record the sensitivity, speci- ficity, accuracy, positive and negative prediction values of color Doppler ultrasou-nd. Additionally, the test indexes such as flow classification, PSV(Peak Systolic Velocity), RI(Resistance Indexes) of masses were also analyzed. Results: The s-ensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive and negative prediction values diagnosed bycolor ultrasound imaging were 60.00%(21/35), 96.77%(210/217), 91.67%(231/252), 75.00%(21/28) and 93.75%(210/224), respectively. While, the PSV and R-I of benign and malignant masses were PSV<20 cm/s and RI<0.7 versus PSV>20cm/s and RI>0.7. The PSV and RI of Benign Group were lower than those of Malignant Group with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion: High- frequency color Doppler ultrasound proved its effectiveness in d ifferenti-al diagnosis of soft tissue masses on the body surface, which could be deemed as a first-choice inspection method for soft tissue masses on the body surface.
