Objective:The study is to further explore and discuss the TCM syndrome type of CAS and to analyse the relation between the TCM syndrome type and Risk factors of carotid artherosclerosis(CAS) and the incidence of cerebral isc-hemic stroke. Methods:Based on the research of the inclusion and exclusion criteria,500 patients of CAS were collected from “Collaborative network platform of combin-ed traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine prevention and treatmen-t of cerebral ischemic stroke in shaanxi province ”.the platform is large databases, all case of which were collected by researchers from Grade III-A Hospital in shaanxi province. All of CAS patients were collected the general condition.it taked history of disease and the information from the TCM four diagnostic methods.Follow-up surveys were conducted for the 500 subjects invo-lved in the baseline study at a fixed time in every year since 2010.We intervi-ewed the subjects who experienced a cerebral ischemic stroke by telephone and Way of hospitalization and hospital visits to collect the cerebral ischemi-c stroke incidence information using standard questionnaires. The outcome event was defined as the first occurrence of stroke and death during the time from the baseline to the last follow-up.The results were obtained by using the SPSS22.0 statistical software for date processing.Measurement date as mean±standard deviation were analyzed by independent sample T-test and corre-lation analysis, enumeration data were analyzed by chi-square test, when P<0.05,the difference has the statistics significant.Results:1.Distribution of TCM Syndrome Types of patients with CAS:syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis(20.00%)>hyperactivity of liver yang(17.40%)>syndrome of wind-phlegm blocking internally(12.60%)>syndrome of blood stasis due to qi deficiency(12.20%)>syndrome of phlegm dampness(8.20%)>syndrome of blood stasis due to liver heat(8.00%)>Blood stasis due to kidney deficiency(7.40%)>syndrome of stirring wind due to yin deficiency(7.20%)>syndrome of interior stagnation by toxic heat(5.60%)>syndrome of stagnant heat and fu-viscera excess(1.4%).2.The finding about the relation between the TCM syndrome style of patients with CAS and the incidence ofcerebral ischemic stroke:according to frequency of TCM Syndrome types of patients with CAS distributed cerebral ischemic stroke group, syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis>hyperactivity of liver yang>syndrome of wind-phlegm blocking internally>syndrome of blood stasis due to qi defici-ency>syndrome of blood stasis due to liver heat>blood stasis due to kidney deficiency>syndrome of stirring wind due to yin deficiency>syndrome of phle-gm-dampness>Syndrome of interior stagnation by toxic heat>syndrome of sta-gnant heat and fu-viscera excess.3.The finding about the relation between the risk factors of patients with CAS and the incidence of cerebral ischemic stroke.(1).the mean value of TG and CRP(mg/L), male patients of cerebral ischem-ic stroke group are remarkably higher than non-cerebral ischemic stroke grou-p,the comparison between the two groups has statistical meaning(P<0.05).(2).In male population, the mean value oftotalcholesterol(TC),Triglyceride(TG)and low density lipoprotein(LDL-C) of cerebral ischemic stroke group is remarkably higher than non-cerebral ischemic stroke group, the comparison bet-ween thetwo groups has statistical meaning(P<0.05).(3).In rural population, the mean value of TG and male patients of cerebral ischemic stroke group is remarkably higher than non-cerebral ischemic stroke group, the comparison between the two groups has statistical meaning(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The TCM syndrome style of patients with CAS has syndrome of inter-mingled phlegm and blood stasis, hyperactivity of liver yang, syndrome of wind-phlegm blocking internally, syndrome of blood stasis due to qi deficiency, syndrome of phlegm dampness, syndrome of blood stasis due to liver heat,Blood stasis due to kidney deficiency, syndrome of stirring wind due to yin deficienc-y,Syndrome of interior stagnation by toxic heat, syndrome of stagnant heat and fu-viscera excess.2.Patients with CAS,mainly in workers, are most often diagnosed in age grades between 61 to 70 years old and tend to afflict men and mostly occurred in patients with hypertension, whose educational backgrou-nd is dominated by senior high school graduates/the technical secondary scho-ol graduates.3.The top 4 the TCM syndrome style of CAS patients accompanied with cerebral ischemic stroke were syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis, hyperactivity of liver yang, syndrome of wind-phlegm blocking internal-ly,syndrome of blood stasis due to qi deficiency.4.The mean value of totalcho-lesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG)and low density lipoprotein(LDL-C) increased in male patients with CAS are vulnerable to cerebral ischemic stroke.
