Objective:In order to find out the standard of operating room nurses’ work-family conflict and empathy ability, by a survey of the current status of operating room nurses in Changchun city, this paper discusses the factors and the potential correlation between operating room nurses’ work-family conflict and empathy ability.The results of the investigation for future nursing intervention management department to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance, which reduce operating room nurses’ work-family conflict and improve the empathy ability to provide the reference in future. Methods:The research selected 377 operating room nurses from 5 Grade Ⅲ-A hospitals in Changchun as respondents by convenience sampling. A survey of the current status of 377 operating room nurses’ work-family conflict and empathy ability though a self-developed questionnaire, work-family conflict scale and interpersonal reactivity index for china(IRI-C). The data was analized under statistics by SPSS 17.0 software. The common profiles are under descriptive statistical analysis by presenting the frequency, rate, percentage, mean value, standard deviation etc. Measuring data are processed by t-test, variance analysis and non-parametric test.The data of operating room nurses’ work-family conflict and empathy ability are Pearson correlation analysis and Multiple Linear Regression analysis. Results:1. The score of the work-family conflict is(55.79±9.21), time Work interference with family is(22.56±4.63), stress Work interference with family is(16.84±3.82),and behavior Work interference with family is(16.40±4.24).2. The score of the empathy ability is 48.91±10.16,the perspective taking is 11.19±3.44, the empathy concern is 16.41±3.86, the fantasy is 12.98±3.72, personal suffering is 8.33±4.32.3. There was a statistical significance(P<0.05)in the differences of the scores of the work-family conflict affected by ages, marriage and nursing age.There was a statistical significance(P<0.05)in the differences of the scores of the empathy ability affected by gender.4. Work-family conflict was negatively correlated with the empathy ability though Pearson correlation analysis. Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the main factors are marriage, the empathy concern and the empathy ability. Conclusion:1. Operating room nurses’ work-family conflict is in higher level, and time Work interference with family is highest.2. Operating room nurses’ empathy ability is in lower level.3. The influencing factors ofwork-family conflictare: ages, marriage, nursing age,the empathy concern and the empathy ability, and the key factors are:marriage,the empathy concern and the empathy ability.4. According to the analysis on the influencing factors of operating room nurses’ work-family conflict is the empathy ability. |
