Objective The aims of this study is to understand the state of occupational disease hazard of benzene series in the national key occupational disease sentinel surveillance area of Suzhou Industrial Park, to discuss the the effect of investigation on occupational disease hazard in Suzhou industrial park, to understand the health damage effect to the people who working in the benzene series environment in Suzhou Industrial Park, to observe the genetic damage of people exposed in benzene series. The aims is also include providing relevant clues for the amendment of occupational exposure limits and health care standards for benzene series, to provide scientific basis for the supervision of benzene series, to provide basic information for the effective protection of the workers’ health and safety.Methods(1) By applying the occupational epidemiology method, combined with the national key occupational disease sentinel surveillance project, make the operating environment of the 14 benzene series enterprises in Suzhou Industrial Park and the relevant people as the objects of investigation, surveying the occupational health state from 2010 to 2014, monitoring the benzene concentration in the air of benzene series, to collect the occupational health examination data of the people who works in the environment of benzene series, to research the occupational disease risk factors of Suzhou Industrial Park, the exposure level and the health status of the exposed population, and the characteristics and trends of occupational diseases.(2) By applying Urinary 8- hydroxy(8-OHd G) as a biomarker for the exposure of benzene series, to study the DNA damage state of workers in low concentration benzene series. To collect the relevant information, and record the Epidata to establish the database, using SPSS13.0 for data analysis.Results(1) During the sentinel surveillance, the environmental changes of benzene series in the 14 enterprises were obvious, and the concentration of benzene, toluene and xylene in air was significantly decreased(P<0.05).(2) Under the current occupational exposure limits of benzene series, the benzene series will still affect the peripheral white blood cells of the workers. In the 5 years of the sureillance, the abnormal rate of white blood cell count in the Benzene Series was higher than that of the control group(P<0.01), there was no statistical significance between the two groups of human neutrophil count and platelet count.(3) During the sentinel surveillance, there was no significant difference in the number of white blood cell count, neutrophil count and platelet count in the situation of the concentration of benzene in the workplace, It pointed out that under the current occupational exposure limits of benzene series, contact crowd abnormal peripheral blood rate is consistent but still higher than that of non exposed crowd.(4) Under the current occupational exposure limits, the effects of benzene series on liver and kidney function and cardiac function were not obvious.(5) When benzene concentration is below the current national occupational exposure limits, workers exposed to benzene series can still have an effect on biological markers(8-OHd G). The concentrations of benzene series were significantly positive correlated with the content of urinary 8- hydroxyl group in biological markers.Conclusions(1) To strengthen the supervision, the concentration of benzene in the air of benzene series can be effectively controlled, and the working environment of benzene series can be improved.(2) In the situation that benzene series concentration is lower than the current national occupational exposure limit value, the contact benzene series still has the influence on the white blood cell count and urine 8-OHd G content, but the effect on the function of neutrophils, platelets, liver and kidney and heart function is not abvious.(3) In the situation that benzene series concentration is lower than the current national occupational exposure limit value, the effect on the concentration of benzene in the abnormal rate of cells was not obvious, but the concentrations of benzene series were significantly positively correlated with the content of urinary 8- hydroxyl group, it indicated that in the situation of low concentration of benzene contact, there is still the possibility of causing DNA damage. |
